Spotykam mnóstwo fascynujących kobiet - pięknych, mądrych i naprawdę interesujących, a tak mało ciekawych mężczyzn.

This is Martyna Wojciechowska, one of my favourite Polish media personalities. She hosts a popular travel-related TV show called ‘Kobieta na krańcu świata’ (’[A] Woman at the Brink of the World’, a play on the fact that she’s a woman who travels to ‘distant’ places so she enters a completely new world every time and acts as a mediator/translator between these ‘distant’ cultures and her own culture, and a play on the fact that the show is about a female traveler who focuses mainly on women from different cultures). She’s a bit like an ethnographer. She travels to a different country in every episode and she talks about the culture she’s encountered and interviews the locals. She’s been to over 60 countries. Sadly, I don’t think she ever went to Lebanon. Or I missed it if she did. I do remember an episode about Jordan, but not Lebanon. I love her public personality. She reminds me of Caroline from ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ because she’s very soft-spoken and has a calm, warm, and slightly mischievous presence without being a pushover. This is the kind of woman I’m attracted to. Someone who’s at peace with themselves and who projects this peaceful energy outward into the world. Someone kind, empathetic, open-minded. Someone with a gentleness and vulnerability to them. Someone soft who’s only forceful when she needs to be. Someone well-traveled who approches different cultures from a non-judgmental place, as much as possible, given that she filters everything through the lens of her own culture, as we all do. Someone who approaches different cultures with love, respect, and a desire to learn instead of being out to ‘get’ people from different cultures for not being like her own culture. Someone who puts the spotlight on (people from) different cultures and who stands in the background and fills in necessary background information when needed. Someone with her own beliefs who isn’t dogmatic about them. She’s been hosting this show for 10 years since around 2008 and now I understand why I was so drawn to her. She’s both what I want to be like and what I find attractive in a woman. Back then, I didn’t realize I was attracted to her, I just thought she had the kind of personality I wanted to have. Now I know better. It doesn’t even matter that I’m not physically attracted to her because I’m mainly attracted to brunettes. Her personality is what makes her attractive to me. The article is from a Polish TV guide I bought today on my way back home from work. I don’t usually buy magazines like this. I usually look up the current TV guide online or in the teletext on my TV, but I was helping this older woman read the price tag on the cover and saw that it had a feature interview with Martyna Wojciechowska so I bought it.
